The holidays are coming up so I thought I'd let y'all in on my top ten films/telly shows related to the holidays... with some honourable mentions too, of course!

I'm sure we're all aware of the old racist adage that "they all look the same". Predominantly said by white people about other groups. If there's something we can agree on it's that everyone in the world does this (though they don't necessarily use it to negate people), it simply is difficult to distinguish simply because there are lots of different types of people. The other thing we can agree on is that white people are very vocal about this (and in a hurtful way).
I've been listening to this certain song a lot recently, and as most songs do with people, it speaks to me in a way. It seems like me. And it made me think of an incident which happened a few days ago.
I'm part of a group of like-minded, spooky Halloween people; a group set up by my friend called Creeptober. It's all creepy, all Halloween, all year. She put up this 30 spooky questions set. It was on some guy's youtube, apparently a famous make-up guy? But, I played along and here are my answers.
I'll supply some photo's and some explanations which I didn't give in the group (obviously) & I'll made just a few additions of other people's answers that I thought were good. This seems to be an ongoing Photo-A-Day over on Instagram. A friend of mine shared it and since I was trying to go through and simply tidy up all of our genealogy paperwork, I thought I would do just this one.
So, that's my mom in the photo, who I actually look nothing like, though people always said I did (it's mainly because we both have dark hair and are overweight - she wasn't until she had me). I probably have her eye shape and I definitely inherited the lone fluffy eyebrow thing from her (but she always tweezed it away). But I don't have her ski-slope nose or her square teeth, nor her face shape or ears.
However, this community recently posted pictures that she was in and one photo is the only time we've kind of showed a resemblance. It's not many people who can say that they were put into the back of a patrol car, and even less can say that it happened when they were nine. But I have a short story on just that.
I keep track of the books I read every year, because I do forget and I like to remember at the end of the year, "Oh yeah... I forgot about that one.". I rarely write thoughts about the books that I read though, so I thought I would shortly discuss some of the books I've read so far this year.
So I'm doing this genealogy photo a day (which will be a blog post next month when I'm finished) and getting ready for my parents' 50th (even though it's not until May); which means that I've been rummaging through photo's and documents, so I'm thinking a lot about family.
This (above) came up in my news feed today. Sounds cool, but I wanted to know if it was true, so I did some research. Perhaps I'm just too picky and read too much into things, but the above is misleading.
