So, sometimes I draw myself, or even my family. Weird, random sketches to pass the time. A lot of these were done of Photo A Days where I simply didn't want to take that particular photo for the fifth time in a row, so I drew it instead. So, we'll start with all the cat drawings. The first one was for the prompt Charity. I'll never let a kitty go hungry or thirsty on my watch. If I know they're out there and in need of assistance, I'll always help. This second one was for a prompt having to do with pets, so I drew all nine of our cats. There's the three Siameseses; Bunny, The Baby, and Inky. I've also drawn them pretty accurately as far as size, shape, and colouring go. Some didn't make out so cute, where others did. So, Bunny is a silver siamese with cream and shades of grey and is also a pretty solid sized cat. The Baby is our chocolate siamese and he's very round. Inky is a snow shoe and he's small and fluffy. Next we have three Gingies; Colonel Mustard, Puff-Puff, and Poe. Colonel Mustard is very long bodied, long limbed, and long of tail and is skinny. Puff-Puff is a small to medium sized cat whose slightly chubby and slightly floofy and really sweet looking. Poe is our smallest boy cat and is angular of face and has an over bite. Then there's the honourary Gingies; Scully and Marzipan. Honourary because Scully is a Tortie (Tortoiseshell Calico) and Marzipan is a Brennel with one orange dollap of colour on her forehead. Marzipan is also an honourary Siameseses because they allow her to be in their club. So, both of them are much cuter in real life, but Scully is kind of big, our biggest female cat, and Marzipan is tee-niny, she's our tiniest female as well as being our tiniest cat. Heck she's the tiniest cat we've ever had! Then there's the Faerie cat, Willow. She's a Norwegian Forest Cat and is immeasurably fluffy and her tail is about a million miles long. We celebrate Finding Days with our cats as they're all rescues. We don't know their exact birthdates, but we know when we found them. So, I like to celebrate by giving the cat their favourite choice of feast be in canned cat food, tuna, or in the case of The Baby, just some extra kitty cookies. This is how I imagine Finding Days should go. This is not, however, how any Finding Day goes down. There's cats running around to be the first to get the tuna (which is what I've pictured here). Marzipan rattles out her ferociously loud battle cry, "Maooooooow!!" and hits anyone who gets food before her. The Gingies form a gang to block other cats from getting to any food. I just want the cats away from me while I'm dishing up plates of tuna, though they keep coming like some zombie invasion from a video game. It's like bailing out a sinking ship with a teaspoon. You move one away and two more show up. There's concerned chirruping from the Alien Cat, Puff-Puff, because he thinks he'll be left out and hissing from anyone coming across Old Man Possum (Bunny), and it's just a general Cat-tastrophe! But as adorable as I drew them is how adorable they all are to me. I wouldn't trade any of them for anything in the world. There always seems to be a photo prompt for family. Always. It's like they'll slip it in every single month. I get tired of asking my parents and sister to stand still long enough for me to snap of a picture or two and I get tired of rummaging through photo albums to cobble together a family portrait. I've even done a "family portrait" of items that remind me most of everyone. This time, however, I decided I should just draw us as cats. So, there's dad who's a little pudgy and has silver hair as the slightly pudgy silver cat, and then mom next to him who is the fussy, slightly pudgy, fluffy black cat because it's a pretty accurate description of her. Next is The Sister all skinny and golden because she's skinny and golden. Then, and I simply ran out of paper space for my pudgy body, so it ends up that The Brother and I are really really close, but we weren't supposed to be. But the tall, average size reddish brown cat is The Brother and then I'm the fat brown one on the end. This was for the prompt This Is Us, so I drew myself and my cats and everything we like, mainly what I like. Scully is MUCH cuter in this drawing, though Poe was cuter in the last. I'll put an asterik next to the things that the cats also like.
Reading counts because they love to snuggle with me or on the book while I'm reading. Scully and Poe both like me, and they both like each other. They like Autumn just fine, especially since we can open a window or two. They do not like Winter, but I like them in Winter because they'll hunker down with me more than usual. They don't mind rain (we have some cats who hate the sound of it), but they don't care for even a nice, non threatening thunderstorm, though they're not scared of those (like some of our other cats). And of course they wouldn't care one way or another about chemistry because they're not allowed on the sundeck if I'm preforming experiments. Too dangerous. This was something about what I do or what I want to do, I don't remember, as it was three or more months ago. All of the little stick figures are things that I do:
Then there's the bust illustration of me with my day dream thoughts of what I wish for; traveling to the mountains, rain, snow, travel with The Sister, and space travel. This one is me and everywhere I have traveled depicted in National or State Flags. We'll start from the top left and work our way down and around ending at the top right.
I have also been to the states of Georgia and South Carolina, but decided not to include them. This, I believe was the prompt of Holiday, or something similar. I chose to represent all of the holidays that I celebrate. Again we'll start at the top left and work our way down and around back to it.
And in the center is me pointing to my birthday, or as I like to call it My Happy Removal Day, because I wasn't birthed, but removed. Woo! This was something to do with Home, but I was tired of taking different shots of my house, so I drew a home I would like to live in. Yes, I would like a tiny, moss covered home deep in some nice, lovely woods with a brook running in front and woodland creatures romping around everywhere. The prompt was something to do with Cozy, I'm sure, so I drew a wonderfully cozy reading nook that I would like. A squishy comfy window seat banked by bookshelves, a mullioned window with rain hitting outside and curtains to close it in a bit. Oh and cats. Cats are always a must! And finally a cuppa coffee in a really swell mug.
