Unlike most people in my friends list, I do like to look at the memories section on Facebook. Today it was a survey I filled out about two years ago with the headline of 25 random facts about yourself that may surprise friends...😳 . So, let's see, shall we? No, I'm sure now, as I was then, that none of this would surprise people, but that's what it was titled, I suppose to make people look. But I've found that most people are really twelve year old girls at heart and like doing things like this. I'm no exception. I'll italicize what I write two years ago and if there are any additions, they'll be in regular font just after that. 1. Do you make your bed daily? Not daily though I want to... I just don't. I still don't, but I throw the cover over the bed covering everything and that's about as close as that's getting. 2. The first car that was officially yours? I like to count the red 1971 International Truck, because it was the first car I was allowed to drive to school (& I loved it, even though it had no radio anymore). But, mom's old 92 Caribbean green Ford Taurus was the first car I was driving (to run my parents errands and joyride when I only had a permit), & it was the first car they put in my name. But BLAH! That was a cool truck, even without a radio, even without proper equipment for changing a flat tire so that affair took three hours instead of thirty minutes tops. And I did, I hated, that Taurus. Piece of shit car with a faulty transmission. I was forever being stranded and broken down because of it. 3. Three grocery items you don't run out of? Coffee, creamer, & eggs (that last one's not my choice, just dad for some reason decides to keep us WELL stocked in eggs). This is still true. Dad sometimes buys stock in bananas but it is currently eggs again. And the creamer for me is really half and half, which i wasn't using two years ago. 4. When did you start doing your own laundry? About 13. I didn't even really know how to do laundry exactly (or properly), but at that age no one else was going to do it, so I just tried to remember what I'd seen from Telly and films and not make the mistakes of adding too much soda and never separated my clothes. Everything went well, but if people try to separate my clothes now it's disasterous. Mwhahaha! It's true. For some reason my clothes don't like being separated. You separate so the darks don't bleed onto the lights, but if you separate mine, that's what will happen. It's weird. 5. If you could, would you go to high school again? I would. I would probably choose one day that I remember liking and go back and do just that day over, just to see what it was like with a different perspective. 6. Can you parallel park in under three moves? Yes. That's one thing I'm actually really good at, you would think I'd be good at turning around seeing as I'm going with parallel parking, but I am the GUS of the 11 point turn around, y'all! LOL 7. A job you had which people would be shocked to know about? I don't think any of my jobs were shocking, least of all that time when I did a stint as an escape artist back in the 20s or when I tamed lions. I was seeing if anyone was paying attention, plus I just felt a little zingy at that moment. I honestly don't think anyone would be shocked by any of my jobs.
8. Do you think aliens are real? Yes. I like to say yes. I've not seen proof, but I like to believe in things like that (or big foot or ghosts or fairies), so I do... Because it's fun.
9. Can you drive a stick shift? Not at all. But I did learn last year, in a tee-niny Miata where my knee was in my spleen, in an old parking lot. 10. Guilty TV pleasure? I really did like that one show, Drop Dead Diva and it was kind of flighty and not my usual educational shows. I could list things like Psych or Supernatural or The X-Files, but those aren't really guilty pleasures, but more necessities. Recently I really enjoyed Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt & I'm trying to watch Roswell (the original, not the reboot). Was digging The 100, and of course I'm all into Dark and Stranger Things. 11. Would you rather be too hot or too cold? "Definitely too cold. You can always put on a jacket or grab a blanket." Exactly! 12. If the world ends do you want to be one of the survivors? Yes and no. In theory I'd be awesome at living in a post apocalyptic society and would be really bad ass. But in reality, if it's anything like they show on Telly and in films, it will be a barren, hot wasteland, & I don't do that. If there were forests and it was kind of cold... Bring it on! 13. Sweet or salty? Sweet 14. Do you enjoy soaking in a nice bath? Occasionally. 15. Do you consider yourself strong? Yes and no. I mean I can blubber like a big baby, but emotionally I am very strong and I can pick myself back up and move forward. Physically, my thighs are very strong and my legs. I can hike with ease and push extremely heavy furniture around with my thighs/hips/butt. 16. Something people do, physically, that drives you crazy? Pulling out in front of me all crazy like just to either slam on breaks or go 10 MPH. Also when people won't hold a door open for me when they see me and see I have a lot of stuff; instead just letting it slam on me. 17. Something you do, physically, that you are sure drives people insane? Everything? I don't know, probably not talking when I don't know you, or talking in a soft mumble when you do want me to talk. Talking too much and acting crazy when I do know you, or being too loud. 18. Do you have any birthmarks? Yes. On my left arm I have two. One on my upper arm, a brown patch like a stretched silver dollar, then lower near my elbow I have some dime-sized little squirrelly-do of a brown spot that my sister in her young age said looked like a strawberry. 19. Favorite childhood game? I loved to run. I'd always enter the 50 yard dash in grammar school and make my friends run races in the back yard (that was probably a little annoying too). LOL. I also loved swimming and pretending that I was a mermaid or a sea creature while in the water or having swimming races. My favourite game-games were the board games of The Donald Duck Party Game, Rose Petal Place, Trouble, & Ewok Village. Card games were Uno & Garfield Crazy 8's. 20. Do you talk to yourself? Always. 21. Do you like doing jig-saw puzzles? Sort of. I like the idea of them, I like trying to put them together, but I'm not very good at them, sadly. 22. Would you go on a reality show? Nah. I may have watched some when I was younger like the first two or three seasons of MTV's The Real World or Singled Out, like when I was an early to mid teenager. I've also enjoyed paranormal reality shows like Paranormal State, Ghost Adventures, or Destination Truth, but still I never wanted to be one one and still don't. 23. Tea or coffee? Coffee. I like the idea of tea, but it's somebody added a few drops of coffee to a lot of water. I hear-tell that the British people make an excellent cup 'o tea, but though I've followed their rules for the perfect cup, I still find it to be like drinking hot bath water. Is our tea different from theirs? I'm not using Lipton, I'm using Twillings English Afternoon or Irish Breakfast or whatever else. 24. First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up? Indiana Jones. There's a lot of things I wanted to be as a kid, but Indiana Jones is still the first one. There was also a prima ballerina in the Russian Ballet (yes, only THE Russian Ballet, I had high dreams), an interpreter, a librarian, a marine biologist, a teacher. 25. No matter how much money you have or don't have, what are you an absolute snob about? Chocolate chips. They have to be Nestle Semi-Sweet and not the store brand (or even the fancy brand) because then the cookies are terrible. This has actually changed. I still only spring for semi-sweet, and never the fancier stuff, but off brand chips are just fine, as long as I'm using Nestle's recipe for chocolate chip cookies, that is (which I wasn't, I was following the recipe on the back or whoever's bag). The recipes on the backs of packages seem the same, but they're all ever so slightly different.
